Music improves workplace performance
The manufacturer.com published results pertaining to what music-loving employees have long advocated, namely that if they are allowed to listen to music in their workplace, their work rate, well-being and efficiency are substantially increased.
The research, carried out by an independent research company for MusicWorks, revealed that 83% of warehouse workers feel that their workplace performance is increased when music they like is played at work.
Furthermore, 85% and 87% of respondents said that they are happier, and staff morale is improved, when music is being played in the workplace.
Such findings offer further proof that businesses actually benefit, not suffer, from a musical environment. A spokesperson for MusicWorks said, “Anything which can assist this should be embraced.”
Employers should take note: one in three workers revealed that they are less likely to take sick days if the place in which they work plays background music.
The rising demand for royalty free Music and Loops is another indicator showing that background music is highly appreciated for the workplace performance.
